Help refitting Geberit Flush plate

So I removed my Geberit Flush plate (to have a look behind) and now I cannot fit it back on. It doesn't seem to clip on anywhere.

It's an Omega 20 model. Wonder if someone could advice me how to attach it?
(I did find a manual online and it shows you attach it from the side, but that doesn't seem to work).

Remove the white plate by turning and removing the long blue "bolts". Fit the white plate in to the opening first, secure with blue bolts and refit the outer push plate.

Is there a technique for removing the long blue bolts, I'm twisting and pulling and they don't seem to budge. Worried I'll break them..
