Hello
Sliding patio door lock has an issue. The handle won't turn to engage the hooks which lock the door. I've tested it without closing it and the lock won't budge. I managed to get it move with a pair of pliers and it seemed to be catching on something as it was turning. It feels like the lock itself has a jam, or the pin that needs pushed to release the lock (so you can only lock it when the door is closed) is not engaging properly, but I'm not sure.
To get access to the lock, I need to remove a strip at the edge of the door that houses the mechanism. I can see inside through some small holes and there appears to be a screw or two holding it onto the door, but I can't get access to the screws as they don't line up with the holes in the strip. I've tried prying it off but it feels stuck and I don't want to break it. I've tried removing all the screws which are accessible, removing the handles and the euro cylinder.
Any ideas either what might be wrong with the lock or how to remove the strip would be greatly appreciated.
