help - Scantronic 9425 problem

Hi everyone,

I have a Scantronic 9425 keypad and the alarm system appears to be working fine. , even though it is apporx 15 years old.

However i decided yesterday when I returned home not to turn the alarm off to see if both the internal and external bells sounded. internal worked, but the external bell box did not sound.

When I do a "bell test" from the keypad the external bell sounds for 5 secs, so i really do not understand why it is not going off when I set the alarm off from one of the PIRs.

Please help!!!!

Make sure you let the entry time finish , Scantronics have 2-ply entry sounders , where the internal sounder triggers ( as a pre-warning) then the external sounder follows later.An easier way to test it is to press the PA button.

There is also a possibility that the bell has a delay programmed , and the PA could be silent ( if the system is monitored).
