We have lived in our house for just over 2 years. Our house is about 30 years old. Our downstairs bathroom is brand new - put in by previous owners.
About 3 times a week when the cold water tap is turned on in the shower a horrible, high-pitched screaming sound happens for about 10 seconds and then slowly dies off. If the cold water tap is turned off during the screaming it will stop, but will continue as soon as it's turned back on for the 10 seconds or so and then it will die off. There is also a noticeable decrease in the water pressure when this happens.
Is this serious?? Should we call a plumber ASAP?? Or is it something we can look after ourselves??
Thanks!
