We finished our en-suite bathroom 6 months ago but can't agree on the floor covering. The floor is t & g chipboard sheets on wooden joists so there's some movement and it's uneven, especially in one corner where a joist is about 8 mm high, producing a camber like a ship's deck. Luckily most of this is under the shower tray.
The bathroom is about 4.5 square metres and my wife fancied some Antico or Carndean. However the price is beyond belief! She asked me what I thought would be a reasonable budget; I thought of a figure then doubled it, replying "two hundred pounds". The quote came in at over £1000!
Now that is daylight robbery. We have looked at all kinds of flooring, we don't like laminates and it has to be something waterproof as we have a messy young son with bad aiming skils. I would be happy to put down an upmarket vinyl, something looking like grey slate tiles, but can we find anything we agree on? Can we 'eck!
Any suggestions? I want this project finished by Christmas!
