Hi guys,
A builder is making a shower enclosure in my bathroom (fixing the whole bathroom really), and I am a little worried as regards the water/vapor proofing of the shower room. There will be a lot of steam there.

Currently there is a stud wall with plywood (!) on top to ensure stability. The builder wants to put a tanking (Ardex) directly on the plywood, and tile on top of this.

I have seen a few comments regarding schluter kerdi boards as better solutions in shower - do you think i should put these kerdi boards on top of the plywood, then put ardex, and then tiles / to make it 100% water proof?! Will this all stick together you think? Thanks a lot for help!!

ps. i put this in here, but also in building section (perhaps wrong to put there?!)

Normally you'd use the kerdi board / Marmox etc instead of the ply rather than on top. Why is he using ply?
