Your sink don`t match yer taps missus. B&q & all diy stores match up sinks ,. taps etc in the prettiest order, they havent a clue about plumbing issues, wether the bowl is deep enough for the amount & delivery of water, buy a bigger sink ;)

well its like this the sink and toilet are en suite size and cost a pretty penny (over £300) so would probably be cheaper to buy taps rather than a new sink, however I do like the style of the taps,
but I can't believe there is no where that stocks aerators or similar device that you can just push into the end of the taps to stop it splashing,

Have you tried wrapping a tea towel around them? I have just told you that your sink is not compatible with the type of taps that you have purchased, that`s all the advice I can give you, sorry.. By the way ,you mean wash basin I think, a sink is normally what you will find in a kitchen/utility room ;)

You may also want to try fitting a 15mm isolation valve to your hot & cold supply pipes just beneath the basin, by turning the valve halfway or a quarter will reduce the pressure at your taps. :D

I seem to remember that there were plastic inserts which could be used with round nozzle, conventional taps. Unfortunately, these seem to have disappeared from the market. If your taps, or their replacements, had internally threaded spouts, this type of fitting, at around a fiver each, could be used. They are known as "flow breakers" and you might like to look at this link. http://www.notjusttaps.co.uk/spares-aerators-LP.htm
This Company might be able to advise you re the possibility of modifying your taps

The pressure at the taps needs to be reduced, the cheapest way would be to fit isolation valves on both hot & cold supplies to the basin, we`re not talking Einstein here...

thanks guys yes I do mean basin, and yes I have also fitted isolation valves, however in reducing the pressure to the hot tap, the flow is really poor, if I turn it up the water splutters all over the sink sorry basin.

I have stolen the ones out of the laundry sink taps as an interim and
I have got a plumber coming round next week to look at boosting the hot water supply with a pump, so it may improve after that. If not I will see if B&Q can offer a solution, they supplied those taps with the suite afterall.

Yeah im sure bandq will get one of their plumbing specialists to stop mixing paint and give you proffessional advice on plumbing. Good luck

At the risk of trying to be helpful rather than posting stupid comments...any chance of posting pics of your taps?

Ok enough, I am not stupid, just seeking support & ideas guys

I have poor hot water flow in so much that the water from the hot tap to the basin spluters all over the place, as its your suggestion Bambergaspipe to reduce the flow at the isolation valves...... I tried it but......didn't help
however as I said I have put the flow adjusters out of the laundry taps into the basin taps and this has improved matters the water is going into the sink rather than all over the place,

I have a plumber who is going to fit a booster pump to the hot water supply and then hopefully the flow into the basin will be OK.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions this is a great site and always appreciative of the advice.

Our firm ran a scheme for south west water a year or so ago and i was sent around people's house's to fit these! (and hippo bags  )

They are easy to fit providing the outlet hole of the tap is round!

Basically they work by compressing an O ring which lodge's the device into the tap outlet. Easy to fit should do the job.

Have already given the solution, why don`t you try being stupid again. ;) You are obviously not a plumber, because if you where you would not have to have it drawn out for you like I have to do it for you now..why do you need a pic.....Dummy?

I am a plumber, and I agree that your suggestion of turning down the isolators is indeed a very good one, and is what I'd normally do myself. However the OP is clearly not happy with this solution, so I've asked for a pic of the taps to see if I can suggest a different solution that might be specific to that particular tap...dummy
