I have been struggling with how to start and go about building the frame/door lining for a door that needs to have a notch taken out of it to fit under the stairs!

I iwould appreciate someone who might have done something simialr to run me through the steps.

Have a fairly good idea of how to do it from endless videos for standard door but would appreciate the input from a chippy on this non standard please!

Assuming that it is a flush door you will.need to relip the cut edge. If the door is frame and panel door you will need to carefully check how far into the top mortise and tenon joint you are cutting - further strengthening of the joint may be required
