I have had a quote from a friend of a friend to remove woodchip, plaster and paint 2 medium sized Victorian rooms and a hallway at £2,500. They reckon it will take 10 days - what do you reckon, does this sound about right? I have no clue!!

Why do you think it needs re-plastering before you’ve even had a look under the woodchip? Without seeing the size of the job it’s difficult to comment but you can work it out; 10 days work for £2500 is £250 a day! How many of them are there? £130 - £150 a day is about the going rate for a plasterer but labouring – pulling wallpaper off, mixing plaster & painting - doesn’t command the same day rate.

All depends on on what you mean by painting ! Depends on how many men are to work on the job. Depends the distance of the job from the decorators yard or homes. Depends how bad the plaster is. In other words to give an opinion of the price then a person would have to see it personally. For example when emulsioning a coving in one room can take one day but it could 5 days in another room..........etc
