I need to install 9 LV downlighters in a kitchen, which i thinking is being fed from a 2gang switch.
1 switch does the kitchen lights, the other does the dining area light.
On opening the switch, i can see that there is a red going into common - with a link feeding the other common. Also a blue into L1 on one side, and a yellow into the second L1.
Now i'm wondering whether there is the possibilty of a JB in the ceiling which sends a feed between the kitchen and dining area?
How can one cable supply the 2 rooms? - are the blue and yellow wires being used as live.
Can anyone help?....thanks

You need a better understanding of lighting circuits. See the Wiki.

the blue and yellow are swithced lives, there is a junction some where

ok, thanks
so could it be that from the JB, a length of T&E has been run to each light in the 2 rooms, just leaving a live, neutral and earth at each ceiling rose? - then take that cable to my first point, then just wire the lights in parallel....?
any diagrams welcome....
please excuse my ignorance...
