I have an old victorian cottage with low ceilings which I want to sell. The lounge ceiling is looking a bit tired and is bulging a little in one or two places and cracking quite a lot in others. If you push on the ceiling you can here the joists creaking above in the bedroom and there has been a leak or two coming through to the ceiling also so its a little stained in places.
However I do not want to re-plaster as it will definately open a can of worms and the lounge is extremely well decorated otherwise.
How can I hide the problems/make good the ceiling to give it a better asthetic appearence??
