Hi,
Need to turn off the water under sink via stopcock tap to replace a cistern flexihose, but finding it hard to turn. Worried it might snap off ?
I tried putting wd40 into spindle but it is at 90 degrees.

Is there anything I can do to work it free please.
Is it ok to use a adjustable spanner against it ?

Thanks,
Phil.

Make sure that you know where your outside stopcock is and check that it it will turn off, just in case you do manage to damage the stopcock supply.
Hold the body securely with wrench or adjustable and then try moving it.

Suggest slackening the centre gland nut a little first!

Of course, as also suggested , make sure you can find and operate the external stop cock.

Infact why not go to the ext one first and leave the internal one well alone!
