Hi we have had a look at house with the view to buy but noticed this crack just above the front window. We are going back during the week for a second look and at that stage will see if I notice any cracks on the inside. Havent noticed any ...anywhere else.

My question is do you think that it could be subsidence ? I dont want to be getting into paying out lots of ££££'s for a survey if it is that obvious that it is subsidence.

What else should I be looking for ? should I be running away?

Thanks in advance

Sean

I'm no expert but that lintel doesn't look like it is wide enough so the bricks above have fallen a bit.

I could only see 1 photo, but it looks like a concrete boot lintel which were popular in the 60's and early 70's. The back of the lintel had all the bearing.
They have been known to tip a little over the years, especially when the timber frames are replaced with plastic.
They usually stop moving after a while.
