My husband and I are in our 20\\\'s and never grew up with radiators. We bought a 97 year old house with a brand new boiler. We couldn\\\'t stand the weather anymore last night, so we turned up the thermastat. Ok, now there is heat from the radiators downstairs, but nothing upstairs. Do we have to do anything to the actual radiators or the actual boiler? We are so confused and there is no manual. Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this is a bit simple, but you have a valve at one end of the radiator which you can turn anti clackwise to turn it on. You may also have a programmer which controls the upstairs rads seperately. What make and model of programmer do you have?

We have a 130 year old house and we don't have any radiators upstairs, er, - we don't have any HEATING upstairs. When these houses were built, if people were up, they were out at work. When they went up stairs they went to bed and had large families to keep warm . If it gets really cold just pull the sheets up over your head, careful what you have for supper though.  ;)

as oil man said but you may have air in the rads, usually removed with a small key or screw fitting, you will prob need a " key"to vent the rads at some stage ,available from your DIY stores etc.
