The pull wire that unlocks the door has snapped in my pre-2000 Henderson up and over garage door. The wire snapped at the top connecting loop (strike plate end).
I bought a replacement pull wire on ebay. No idea what the small bracket is for...
It is not immediately apparent how to fit the replacement. I suspect my original pull wire was supplied pre-assembled.
At the handle end, a small crimped loop is fastened through a small plastic axle, held by a split-pin.
At the strike plate, a small crimped loop (which has snapped) is fastened through a hole in the end of the latch bolt.
* Have I bought the correct repair kit? The loop in the supplied pull wire is too big, and the current set up has two crimped loops, not one.
* I have seen some repair kits which also include a metal ring to connect to the hole in the latch bolt. But my door does not have this.
Any tips on how to proceed are welcome.
