Guys I have an older Henry hoover and recently while you use it gives off a burning smell.

I'm just wondering if it's the motor or another part, my assuming that it's the motor as it's the only thing that makes sense to me

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

I would imagine your diagnosis is correct......if you can dismantle the top and expose the motor, an excessive amount of carbon dust would indicate the motor has done some work.
Motors are available on ebay, and simple enough to fix.....just make sure you buy the one with the single or dual speed, depending on the machine you have.

Hi thanks for the reply. So if i find excessive amounts of the carbon dust that means the motor is finished?

I did take it apart and it was very dirty/dusty so im thinking youre right
