Old system broke about two years ago so asked a "reputable" plumber about a replacement and opted for a Sime Format 100c Combi boiler.

The thing is now making a dreadful racket - both when using hot water and central heating. It comes on once it's warmed up - and it sounds like a car running that needs its fan belt tightening - sort of fades in and out. The noise seems to be getting louder - but it's not all the time, yet!

Could I ask for advice on this?

Is it the fan assembly? and if it is do I have to get a Gorgi registered bloke to fit it or is it DIY'able?

Am fairly handy when it comes to plumbing and building decorating etc..

Thanks for any help...

I think it was - though if it wasn't what would it mean?
I wasn't around when it was fitted..so don't really know.
