Our garage gutters overhang the boundary line at the moment, we just moved in and the garage has been there for a very long time, probably 30+ years.

It needs a new roof and i was thinking of removing this gutter and would like to avoid having any overhang. Its right outside the neighbours side door and pretty unsightly, it even drains straight into their garden! They haven't mentioned it and have lived there a long time but I'd like it to look nicer.

Is there a way of having a gutter directly above or before the wall so the roof ends on the wall rather than beyond? I've same basic images from above but I cant find any detailed drawings showing the construction.

We are also building an extension so can deal with the drainage as part of that project.

Thanks,
Shaun

It is possible to construct a stepped fascia which allows a square gutter to sit back flush.

It may not be possible to do that with the existing flat roof and felt though

I should have said, its currently a lean-to asbestos (probably) roof attached to the gable of house. My intention is to keep it that way but replace the asbestos with tile or slate to match house.

It's also single skin brickwork.
