Hi

Is it possible to hide a forum from "new posts" and ideally completely? There is an option to do this for the combustion chamber but not others.

I would like to come and learn about DIY and help others and the top posts always seem to be the general bigotry and trolling in General Discussions which isn't helpful.

Thanks.

You can ignore a member so you never see any of their comments. Not displaying a section I can't see that working well, as you will miss topics.
Forums can have an off topic section, meaning any topic not covered by building or DIY work can be put there. Not one here though. It is all about admin and what is allowed and moving discussions to correct sections, as this helps. Takes a lot of time on a busy site like this.

I think it's reasonable that I should be able to suppress alerts from a particular section.
I don't think you can exclude one, but you can "Watch" a whole subforum.

So you could choose them all and miss out the ones you don't want

You can have alerts just from the threads you're interested in.
Otherwise the sections are shown when you look at "What's new", so you can avoid the dross in General Discussion and gardening or whatever you aren't interested in.
