I don't want you all to think I'm someone who studies the Highway Code for errors, but whilst trying to find out if ambulances can push nasty old g*ts ugly Rover 820 out of the way, I found this. Rule 18, which is for pedestrians:

You MUST NOT loiter on zebra, pelican or puffin crossings

It then goes on to talk about the above 3 crossings, AND the newer toucan crossing.

By leaving them out of the above requirement the Driving Standards Agency is obviously indicating that loitering IS allowed on toucan crossings.

So, next time you find yourself on a toucan crossing, don't rush, stay a while! :LOL:

Used to be bicycle hill climb methodology in the country...
Not one lad in my age group had not been over 50 mph on their push-bike ... White knuckling Pete's rear carrier on the Beesa .. along the A38 !
Even better, 5 up on a Panther 600cc twin port single, 3 miles trip home from pub... (one was local plod's son !!) Hang on, skip through the Highway code ...mmmm??
