I want to connect 7 wired cameras to 7 of the 8 ports of the Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2/8P NVR.

Is it possible to connect an Ethernet cable from a wireless router to port 8 and use the wireless connection to connect to a wireless camera on port 8?

Will this work?

Thanks

you can use a poe switch to connect a camera to a network, and as long as the NVR is connected to the same network you will be able to add it to the NVR

Brilliant. Do you know if I could get away with connecting 2 x wireless cameras on port 8 and will this NVR support more than 8 ip addresses?

Thanks

you can have 8 remote channels ie nothing directly on nvr, as long as they are powered and connected to the same network

Do I have this correct?

If I wired 6 cameras from ports 1-6 I could then plug a rooter into port 7 and then be able to run 2 wireless cameras from that to the NVR which takes it up to the 8 channels.

the only other issue if not a hik camera need to make sure the onvif is compatible,

No

theres 8 camera ports
1 internet port

the internet port connects to the network
your cameras can connect to 1 of the 8 ports or you can find cameras on the same network as the NVR is plugged into

Thanks for the link.

If I have 7 wired and one wireless camera do I plug the wireless router into port 8 or into the lan network port so I can have the wireless camera connect and record to the NVR?

Sorry about this I'm new to this type of cctv system.

Thanks

Got you. Thanks for sticking with me on this. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your help.
