Hinge Jig + router bit

Im not looking to buy a hinge jig as i only hang about 2 doors a month

however i like the neat finish they do,so is it possible to just mark the hinge on the door and cut as much out free hand with the router?

And what router bit do you recommend.

if anyone has a nd plans to make a 3" & 4" jig then they would be great

Hinge jigs are a piece of cake to make. 12mm MDF cut to hinge size plus offset for router.

yes use an F-cramp or something similar quite thin to hold it in place on your door, allow about 1mm oversize so you've got a bit of play when you come to hang your door.
