hi there,building an extension approx 6m x 4m putting a hipped roof on it.i,m a joiner but i haven't done alot of cut roofs just alot of trusses.what size timber should i use for the rafters and hips also whats the best way to fix the ridge to the house.any help appreciated.

As for the timber sizes I have the building reg tables for which size timber to use for a given span. If you send me your email I'll send you a copy.

presumably you are building a single story extension and the ridge board will butt against the house at 90 degrees?
