Hello

I have just joined this forum so I am a bit of a novice.

I am looking to sell my house in the next couple of years. Unfortunately there is no felt underneath the roof tiles. What would be the best way to resolve this? Would I need to have the tiles removed so that the felt can be put on?

I’m worried that this could prove to be very expensive, the house is 70 years old and still has the original tiles and I imagine that they would need to be replaced after the felt has been put down.

I have read that it’s possible to have the tiles sprayed from the inside instead. Does this comply with the HIPS regulations?

What would you recommend that I do?

Many thanks

do not go for the foam torching.

your tiles may be in perfect nick. older more distorted tiles age better than some early machine moulded tiles.

Thanks

Am I required by law to have felt put inside the tiles? Is the foam torching the spraying thing I mentioned?

Thanks

If its just an attic then no real point. there's no requirement for felt, there are thousands of houses like yours and unless there's a leak, you should probably leave the roof as is.

Spray foam is not a proven method of roof repair, there has been much speculation that it could cause more problems than it solves, so you should give that idea a miss too.

agree with Deluks.

also, foam torching will render your valuable tiles, worthless.
