Hi, I'm about to install this hob into a 3 drawer base unit with handless drawer fronts. There isn't enough room to install the horizontal partition panel nor provide the 4mm opening along the front edge. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Below diagram is from the installation manual.
Lower cabinet with a drawer

  • There must be an opening with a height of no less than 140 mm along the entire width of the cabinet in the cabinet rear wall. In addition, there should be an opening of at least 4 mm in the front side, along the entire width of the cabinet.
  • A horizontal partition panel should be installed underneath the induction hob along its entire length. There should be at least 10 mm of clearance between the lower end of the hob and the partition panel.
  • Adequate ventilation should be allowed from the rear side.
  • If there is a drawer under the kitchen cabinet, do not store aluminium foil or flammable substances or liquids (such as sprays) in this drawer. Keep such substances away from the cooking hob. Danger of explosion!

What dimensions do you currently have then? It may be that you will need to do away with the drawer and just fix the facia of it to the base unit.

Hi, there is a 30mm space between the bottom of the hob and the top of the drawer sides, so I reckon I'll be able to fit a sheet of 6mm mdf onto a frame of some sort. As for the 4mm gap at the front I suppose I could reduce the width of the front top rail on the base cabinet to create a ventilation gap.
