I have a Hisense induction hob which has worked perfect for the past 2.5ish years. Then, all of a sudden we noticed that the touch controls started to play up.
So you might be boiling water then you want to turn it down to simmer but the touch Vol up/down doesn't respond. You then you have to turn it off at the wall and run the risk of tripping the cooker due to the sudden surge then back on to hopefully get it back up and running, for another short period of time

Does anyone know why or should I just spend another £200-£300 on a new one ?

You could try this not sure it will work but taken from another website

Leave your hob unplugged for around 4 hours.

Then press and hold the START Button.

Keep it held in, and ask someone to plug it back for you.

Then, wait another 10 seconds, and let go of the START button.

Now, turn the hob on, back off, and back on; it should work.
