I heard a bang in the road outside (not a rare occurrence here) and went out to check. A Transit was stopped at the end of the drive; he'd been hit, lost a door mirror and had a damaged wheel. The other driver had fled the scene.
I invited the Transit driver in to change the wheel. It took a while to sort out (the spare had a puncture) and while we were working on it, another vehicle drove in.
This third driver had seen what happened, and had come back to tell us the bad guy was stopped in a car park down the road, having to change his own wheel.
Needless to say, the police now have the vehicle number and description.
