Though I suppose, unlike the Poles who wanted to free their country from the Nazis, there isn't much desire to fight amongst all the thousands of young Syrians heading over this way.

Yes, and once again they appear to be proving your statement to be correct. I believe that following the atrocities in Paris, the Poles have pulled out of the scheme to resettle some of the migrant swarm. Along with several other central/eastern European countries the Poles weren't too keen anyway. Flooding their mostly causasian, peaceful country with those of a savage persuasion, even if they're not all terrorists, seems to appeal even less than it did before the attacks.
