As per normal, tried to tackle something new and got struck with issues. Installed my hive mini as per the instructions. Old wires at the control unit to the same on the new hive. Heating got stuck on. Removed old thermostat that is in the living room at the boiler end. Same problem! Assuming I'm wired up wrong in someway but I haven't the knowledge to know how.

Not an expert - my only experience with this is replacing a British Gas/Drayton UP2 with a Drayton Wiser.

But could this be due to the live link you have between L and 3? The older controllers required this link to be in place, but the newer ones make the link internally. I think 3 is the CH ON terminal.

You have a link in terminals 3 and 4 at the boiler, need to see the low voltage side. Also removing the cover from that particular boiler forms part of the combustion circuit and should be safety checked afterward.
