Hi all
Looking for a bit of help or point in the right direction if possible please
I've been living in my house for 2 years and never had problems with heating before.
Last week all of a sudden the heating is not firing up via our hive thermostat. I've checked boiler pressure etc first and not that.
It seems to be intermittent at first but now it just won't fire up.
I managed to do a factory reset and link it to the hub again and that seemed to work but now it's stopped again. I've changed the batteries to new ones also but still the same it won't even come on via the boost.
I'm a plumber by trade but never did my gas etc but I do understand how it all works but this hive really is strange. I'm thinking I might just take it out and go back to the old Honeywell dial thermostat.
The integral timer also doesn't work.
I'm getting hot water no problem but it's all of a sudden the heating is playing up.
Any ideas would be great.
Many thanks Gav

It's the slt5 there's no receiver by the boiler with this one just a hub that plugs into the router.
This hub hasn't been used since I moved in. I only started using the hub last week to do factory reset and pair up again, that seemed to work but it's gone again after a few days

Hi yes sorry forgot to mention it's a baxi platinum 24 ERP it's around 8 years old for the manual where it was installed

When you say link it out just turn it off and use the integral timer?
Sorry, place a link where the thermostat should connect at the pcb/boiler if it’s possible. Or join the 2 switch wires from the Hive, and yes use the timer/switch.

Ok thanks what's the best way to link it? I don't have those u bend connector that come with boiler in the PCB

Ok, then safely isolate the electrics to the Hive receiver, carefully remove the cover and you should have L N and com and NO (iirc 1 and 3) join 1 and 3 together, either one, doesn’t matter, but if L and 1 have a link, then best to join 3 to 1.

Ok thanks I kind of thought this is what you meant but wanted to double check. Thanks for your help I will try this later and let u know how I get on.
Thanks

So this is the one end of the cable from where the hive is /was going to terminal 1 and 2 at the boiler PCB
I've isolated everything.
What should I do to connect?

Why have you removed the Hive? I don’t understand where the power comes from either. Basically those 2 wires I think should be connected. Can you show me them connected to the Hive?

So this is the back plate with the wires attached to the hive.

If you’re able to, put both wires into one terminal, if you’re struggling, use the Earth terminal as a very temporary solution, just for testing purposes. Or use a connector block if you have one.

Ok so I've put both wires in one terminal.
The radiator light has lit up on the boiler but initially never fired but then did and has gone off now after a few minutes.
