Which version Hive do you have - are there one, or two buttons on the receiver?
Are there any other external controls, like a programmer, and did the existing thermostat correctly fire the boiler, before you attempted the swap?

I’ve managed to sort it seems my built in timer was set wrong a bit of tinkering and it’s working the way it should.

Glad you’re sorted. Careful though, as those ideal logic covers form part of the combustion circuit and make it room sealed. The burner baskets on the logics are porous and could easily emit fumes/products of combustion.
