I have a 45 amp supply on a 10mm2 cable to a control unit with socket. The 10mm2 cable goes from the control unit to a terminal outlet box. The new hob requires a 30amp 4mm2 cable. Can I connect a 4mm2 cable from the hob to the 10mm cable at either the terminal outlet box or control unit? Look forward to your help!

I've been reading all the other postings on hobs. Could I use 6mm cable instead, or stay with 4mm and replace 45amp fuse with a 30amp one. Or 6mm cable with 30amp fuse. Someone out there will know!

use 4mm cable (6 if thts all you have) and change the breaker to 32A
