Hi,

I'm trying to install a ceramic hob, but I can't figure out how to wire it up due to the puzzle box that the supply cable connects to. I can tell where the earth goes, but I have no idea where live and neutral should go?

I've attached a picture of the opened box for easy reference (the numbers represent numbers which are on the box but are not visible in the picture). Any help appreciated.

Cheers, Les

Is this a new hob, or used? It should have installation instructions with it. What do they say?

Any chance of telling us a bit more: like the make and model number!!

I should say that phase(live) should go to 2 and neutral to 5. I'm 95% sure about this, so please double check.

I believe that your hob is capable of being run off 3-phase supplies as are more common in a domestic environment in continental europe, here we have single phase and all the connectors are connected together as you can see.

Check the current rating though if it's s/h, I've seen a lot of gear wired with the busbar across the three "phase" terminals, and often it's 16 amp three phase or eg. 40 amp single phase - mostly stage lighting gear mind.
