Hello! I have this hole in the side of the upstairs bathroom, some kind of previous ventilation. I used expanding foam last year and covered with plasterboard but birds pecked it out and made a nest. Birds now gone and looking for a more permanent fix. What should I use to fill this hole? Do I have to remove that plastic lining first? Thanks in advance!

The big mistake, was the bird house, by the hole.....

Remove the plastic grill, mortar in bricks, or parts of bricks. Let that set up, then add mortar over the top to match as bes you can, the rest of the render, finally paint to match.

Do similar on the inside, but finish with patching plaster.
