Hi
I am just looking for some advice. We are looking to decorate the lounge soon and want to install a hole in the wall gas fire. We have a brick chimney which is all external, class 1. So the inside lounge wall is flat.
My wife likes the idea of making a false chimney breast so we can create a feature, tile it etc. Would the false chimney breast be made of bricks or would it just be a timber studded wall? How deep would this be, I would like it fairly shallow, I don't want it to intrude into the room too much.
Sorry if this seems a stupid question. I did go to one of my local shops where I was thinking of buying a Fire in the future but he was unwilling to give me any answers unless I was going to buying a Fire.
Thanks Andrew
