Hole size for 22mm Speedfit Tank Connector

Hi,

I have a 22mm JG Speedfit tank connector but it didn't come with a packet or any instructions??

What size hole do I need to make in the cold water tank to install it.

I have a 38mm holesaw can that be used?

One that is big enough to get the fitting through

Why not use a tape measure?

Thanks very much judging by some of the responses I suppose what I should have asked instead is.

"For the Speedfit Tank Connector fitting to form a watertight seal do I need to make a hole exactly the diameter of the thread or do I get a few mm grace. The thread measures 36mm so does it seem likely that i'll be able to get away with a 38mm hole or do Speedfit connectors require more precision?"

From wiggikins answer it seems like it might work out ok?

I was about to file your post off to the ministry of silly questions - but yes you should get away with that size cutter.

Just reporting back for any others that might ask a similar question:

Made the hole with the 38mm cutter and after centering the tank connector the seal seems water tight.
