Holes in the wall

I have a soil vent pipe in my wall with a overflow beneath it. However, it is 5 centrimtres to high (just 5!) I want to know if it is going to be a problem to drillout a semi cirle below, drop the pipe and then make good in the semi circle above. Will look a bit messy but at least I can get a bedover the top of it then.

better to remove the bricks whole beneath the pipe, reset the height of the pipe and relay cut bricks as drilling only 5mm of masonary is dodgy.
