Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine down the road has a hollow door on his bedroom, the door doesn’t shut properly, he’s put raw plugs behind the hinge, but still no better, a kitchen fitter solved the problem for him, I asked what was used and if it was a raw plug, he said that it was a bit like a raw plug but it had spikes on it, I’ve had a google and look on Amazon, I found
45 Sets of Plasterboard Fixing Screws,Self Drilling Drywall Screws and Drywall Anchors https://amzn.eu/d/iB6nIvR and Plasplugs Hollow Door Plugs & Drill Bit 20 Pack https://amzn.eu/d/3RNbdk6 and 10 Pcs Cavity Wall Fixings Anchors, M4*20 Heavy Duty Metal Hollow Wall Fixings Anchors Plugs Expansion Screw Bolts for Drywall Plasterboard https://amzn.eu/d/6pBvdkH. I can see that there is a self tapped screw in the hinge, any idea what was used? What wo7ld a professional use? Just curious.

Many thanks,

Steve

If you use a dome head screw (as per your amazon link), you will not be able to close the door. The screw head head is too big

You can use superglue and matchsticks to fill the old screw holes, and then pilot hole and drill in to it. Alternatively, drill a slightly bigger hole and use wooden dowels
