Hello all.

I have to order a Home Information Pack prior to putting my leasehold flat on the market.

Now, I don't want to spend any more than necessary on this, because it seems that in most cases no one really cares about it that much. However at the same time, I want to know that the pack I order is going to be complete, and done properly and quickly.

When I do a web search, there seem to be so many people offering them. Every possible company name that you could think of comes up... HipsRUs, 1stForHips, WeAreHips, HipsCo...etc, you get the idea. It all seems a bit slap-dash and fly-by-night.

Does anyone have any recommendations, or experience, with this? Should I just get the cheapest, or is there any reason why I should pay more?

Thanks for any advice!

Although I have no personal experience, I would seek a personal recommendation. You could ask any friends who have sold property recently or see if you solicitor has any recommendations.

Bahco may be able to help with this. He'll probably be on a bit later.

Got mine from here

They were fast and cost effective, all your documents emailed to you in PDFs and my EPC was carried out within the week.

Obviously you have to print and compile it yourself for the cheaper option.

Thanks for this, I'll check it out.

Doesn't someone have to visit your home to compile an EPC? How can they be accurate without seeing things for themselves?

They still insisting on these?

I thought the docs ran out after 3 months?
Thats a loot shorter than most houses will currently be on the market.

The Energy side of the HIP will not be thrown out as it is a EU Directive.

As for getting a HPI Survey you should be bartering with local estate agents to include a "free" one as part of their service to you i.e they pay it out of their commision. :D

In my case I'm using one of those new, ultra cheap, online estate agents. If I actually do manage to sell, the overall fee will only be £470. So they're not going to be throwing in any freebies!

So it looks like I'll have to stick with the suggestion above, which looks fine.
