From today's "Times":
Homeserve loses out
Homeserve is expecting to lose about 270,000 customers after a marketing drive at the emergency repairs insurer fell flat and fewer people renewed policies. The loss of about 9 per cent of Homeserve's 3 million customers this year is higher than the 240,000 expected. The insurer was hit by a Financial Services Authority investigation into the way it was selling "complete cover" policy upgrades. It was forced to stop all marketing calls, both made and received, after the FSA's intervention.
