Hello
My Honda Izy fails to fill the bag even half way even with fairly short dry grass, the grass is backed up in the mower and blocks the entrance to the bag.It seems to work ok for the first 10 minutes. Any advice much appreciated.

Are you sure you have the correct blade on it? Also try jet washing the bag and cleaning the underside of the deck well.

I assume the engine is running alright before it begins to happen? no loss of revs or power for example?

Yes the mower has just been serviced it is clean and the bag is fine, the mower was repaired because it was not collecting at all, according to the servicing man it was due to the spring on the door the covers the entrance to the grass shute coming off

Try it with no bag and the door open, see will it blow? Just be careful of flying objects. As above check the blade type and speed.
Ensure the air can get out of the "clean" bag

How long is it since you saw it filling the bag, like you think it should?

The mower seemed to be collecting ok for the first few minutes, is there anything that can heat up and slip after it gets hot?

Two issues with these:
1) The turned up edges on the blade have been worn away due to cutting pebbles :P
2) The engine speed isn't fast enough! There is scope for cable adjustment which usually gets it running faster......there is a governor tweak too!

The throttle cable is clamped (engine end) by a screw onto a plate....just slacken it and pull the cable back a fraction (throttle position on 'fast') - but not enough for it to go onto the choke position.

Is there anything that can heat up and slip after it gets hot?

Not that I know off, but if the bag is clogged or the blade cant get air it would explain how it works for a short time?

The blade is direct on the crankshaft on these - its only the transmission drive belt that can slip, but even thats unusual.
