probably not. depends how much it is tho. or i might just take my share for handing it in...

If someone gave me £200 from an ATM, unaccounted-for money, anyone could have taken it, why not me? Someone's stupid fault for leaving it there. i could, of course, keep it in the shop for a while, maybe a week, for the owner to come forward, but again, how would i know it was really the person who drew it out? in my view, ownership of the money is void from the point it is left at the cash machine. convenience for me eh? ;) ;)

Once when I went to an atm in the nearest town, I found that a card was already in it and was ready to draw money  Couldn`t get mine in and no-one in sight..........Got a tenner out, and took it and the card into the bank(machine was in wall o/s bank).Got a Tenner from the bank as reward  ....now if I`d seen the name on the card as Stringfellow ;) or similar I might have drawn some out.

I'd like to say yes but if I left it in there I doubt anyone would do the same for me

I was very good yesterday. I took youngest to McD's for his tea and gave the girl a £5 note and some change. She went to give me change of a tenner and I said 'No that's wrong' so she said 'Oh sorry was it a twenty?'.

I couldn't believe it but I told her I actually only needed £2 change. She then admitted it was her 1st day and she was really nervous, bless her.

I hate Mcd's but he had one of their deli sandwiches & milkshake. That's why I had change from a fiver

I only took him as he was supposed to be having a sleepover at his mates but then couldn't go as the Dad has come down with some lurgy.[/b]

i went to the macca d's drive thru once, and it took the lass at the first window about 5 mins to get my order. think it came to £7ish. I gave her a tenner. She then gave me the £7ish back in change! When i got to the next window i told them about the mistake, and they corrected the error. I wasn't going to let the poor lass have a till short! I work in a shop trying to prevent till shorts!

Hi a few years ago went to the atm to get some cash and as I was approaching the atm I saw 2 ladies walking away. Get to the atm and there is 300 bucks already there. Look for the ladies and cant find them - walked around the shopping centre for an hour (wasnt busy) and finally saw them at a restuarant table. Approached them and asked if they had recently used an atm, when they said yes I asked which one it was and how much they had drawn. After a while (they were suspitious) they answered correctly and I gave them their cash. They offered my some reward but I declined. Just because someone forgets their card or cash, it doesn't give anyone the right to scoop it. Unforts a lot of people would rather scoop it.

Honesty does pay off!

I like most would have thought nothing of finding money at an ATM and stashing it in my pocket.

Until one day it happened to me , not at a ATM but my wallet ...I lost my wallet.

I had about £400 notes inside credit/debit cards, membership cards and even a house key in the zip pocket.

i hadnt realised until about 6 hours later and I was out of my mind. I retraced my steps for that day and asked at every shop that i had passed.

I went to the local police station and asked and after describing the contents and proving my identity they produced my wallet with everything in place.

that was the first and last time ive ever lost anything and the absolute horror of what could have been was enough for me never to want to put anyone else though it.
