Honeywell CM 927 Programmable Thermosat but no hot water

i borrowed a friends honeywell CM927, i have wired it to see if it works before i decide to install completely. I have a potterton power max HE boiler, when i switch the integral programmer disable switch, the temperature stat is working fine but my hot water now does not come on!

is the CM927 not compatible or is there a way i can program the hot water to come on?

You should continue to use the internal programmer for hot water but set the CH programme to permanently ON.
