Hello. I need to attach some hooks to the top of the fence to hold some wire under tension.

Screwing them into the top isn't enough; the boards are thin and easily just split when the wire is under tension.

Anyone know of something that can be screwed into the side for better fixture, and then provide a hook point at the top?

Screw a horizontal batten to the rear of a few of the vertical boards, then screw your eyebolt into that? As with many things people attach to their fence especially when it's to be tensioned, it will likely lead to forces being applied to the fence it's not really designed for.

Yes. I'm using turnbuckles. They need to hook onto the hook.

AFAIK turnbuckles need to have the eyes and hooks in line and not at right angles. If you put the eye at a right angle, as you twist the turnbuckle it will try to pull the eye bolt towards it.

As per @foxhole 's question, can you explain what you are trying to do?

If the top of your fence posts are the same height as feather edge boards, you might be able to use a very long eye bolt in the top of the posts.
