Washer functional but no movement from the drum. My wife washed several towels which may havve been too heavy. No prevuious problems and new motor 18months ago. Is there any safety cut off switch to reset anywhere to solve it (possibly ??)

Check the carbon brushes in the motor.
If there is a very strong smell of burning from the motor it may well be terminal.

Thanks, but bushes seem ok, no smell of burning and no prior problems either

You'll need to check for broken wiring, failing that it's pointing to failure of the pcb.
