I've read most of the posts here about replacing the bearings and they all seem to be quite prohibitive but here goes...
I have a 10 year old Hoover New Wave Electronic 1100 which has worked fine up until now. I think the bearings have now gone. I disconnected the belt and spun the drum - grating noise - not nice and smooth. The thing is, it can attain the fastest spin of 1100 (well it's prob not doing 1100 is it!).
Does anyone know for certain out there that a complete strip down is necessary on an AC170? If it is i'll just buy another washer - if not i'd give it a go!
Does anyone know if the bearings can be replaced without taking the whole thing to bits?
Any help appreciated!
Hugh
