This machine was given to me so I have no idea how old it is -I don't think it had been used much before and I have had it about a year and it has done 8-9 washes per week.

I have noticed that the programme selector goes all the way round making clicking noises - not sure if it does it on every wash ...

Recently I have noticed that it sometimes seems even worse at rinsing than before (I always use it with the extra rinse and clean the soap drawer out regularly) and sometimes clothes aren't as dry as I would expect (after 1600rpm spin).

The other day I noticed it emptied after the wash but didn't spin before the first rinse.

Then one wash only took about 20 mins - I put it on again and it seemed to work normally...

Wondering what the problem could be (the cycle isn't being completed properly???) and how easy it would be to fix...

Not sure if your machine would have a plastic water bottle on the back of the drum or not but if it has it may pay you to remove it and clean it out as it can stop the machine spinning and filling properly also when you have the bottle off poke a pencil into the aperture to remove any scum build up. Hope this helps..!

Thanks -I'll try that -but I'm not sure it is problem...

And reading my post back I don't think I made it very clear...

Whilst the washing machine is going through a cycle the dial spins all the way round and making a clicking noise - and then stops on bits of different cycles -and seems to do a bit from that cycle and then carry on...
It might be normal for this machine ...but does seem a little odd..although it does seem to finish where you would expect it to...and the 20 min wash was very odd...

(if it is normal and anyone was thinking of buying one like this - I wouldn't - you don't know how far through the cycle it is...)

Right off to try and get the back off to look for the plastic bottle thing...expect another post ...how do I get the back off ...

Ok I can now answer this without taking the back off the machine...today I set it for a 40 deg wash and looked at it about 20 mins later ...and it had moved to a boil wash... and the front glass was very hot... I moved it just past the start of the 40 deg wash and it seemed to carry on working from there (don't know about the state of the clothes inside yet it still hasn't finished....) but the heating element must be working...

Does anyone know how to fix the selector? What bit is faulty to make it do this?
Thanks...

if the selector is not working correct
all you can do is check wiring tight eneough , look for any burns
check any PCB that it leads to for the same things

i would say that a new timer is required
