Hoover AE130 stuck on rinse / very slow fill

Hi

Our AE130 has started to get stuck on rinse or fill slowly. ie it runs through the wash cycle but one it gets to rinse it seems to stick water is going in but slower than I seem to remember and the programmer is make lots of squeaking noises whereas before it just used to tick. I know I should check the pipe filters but is there anything else I should look for whilst I have it out?

it may be syphoning, make sure the outlet hose is high and not slipped down the stand pipe

I think I have found the problem, the cold valve is lazy, i.e only opening slightly when swopped (temporary) for the hot valve it gushes in and the hot just trickles.

it's £9.00 for a new valve so off to the spares shop I go.
