the simplest cause of your problem assuming that it does not take either hot or cold, is that there is a fault in your drain pump circuit. it could be that the pump itself is no good (after thought, can you hear the pump running during the spin cycle?). if it's not your pump then i can say that i've seen loads of these machine blow the triac on the main p.c.b. which controls the pump. if your machine is less than five years old then you'll get hoover to give you your "free" parts in exchange for paying them approx £80 to fit them. in the case of a board then it's worth it assuming the rest of your machine is o.k.
