Hoover HED 6612-80 dishwasher will not wash?

Machine starts. Rinses 1 led on, moves to start washing, 2 leds on, then just does nothing. I checked the programme selector, working OK. Could the pcb be stuffed? Anyone with suggestions! Where can spares be sourced.

I have the same problem on my Hoover washer (same model)-did you get yours fixed? If so what was the cause of the error?

I took it apart checked drain pump and pipes for blockages none found.
There is an item attached to the bottom metal cylinder with a polyestrene block inside, this could be a pressure switch?I also took this apart.I put it all back together and it started working! I gave another guy a way to get it to work, it is in this forum under Hoover hed 6612 dishwasher.Find it and try it may fix your fault.

I got a good answer from travelman. If you can clean mother board 1st with circuit board cleaner ( you can get this in Maplands). This board is in the door panel easy to get at.Let it dry off before re assembling.Good luck.

cheers! But seriously, which Hoover designer had the clever idea of putting a circuit board where it could be exposed to water?!! The dishwasher is only a few months old and might be still under warranty but I hope I can fix it myself, will try tommrow, thanks again for your replies.

If your machine was registered when bought and you have receipt then parts are covered free for 5 years. I would remove mother board from machine note connections and spray with WD40 then spray with circuit board cleaner.Take care to let it dry off completely before refitting.

Hi I got it half working today without taking it apart! I just held the reset button for 3 seconds then turned it off selected the program and turned it back on. The first time I did this it got stuck on the first LED, but I did it again and it moved onto the washing and rinsing stages, and the LED went to the drying stage. The problem is, that it keeps flashing on the drying stage for over 1 hour, and I think next time I start it, I will have to reset the program to the beginning again, because the program didnt finish and the memory of where the program is, is retained when it is switched off.

I think we are on the same wavelength.You just have to keep at it.Although it is maddening.I think everyone with this same problem should get together and approuch Hoover and demand them to replace the faulty mother boards.

the litre switch is a small switch( looks like printed circiut board size of £2 coin ) located in middle of flat plastic water container in left hand side panel from front looking, undo rear and front screws to move side panel away to reveal water container at top inbetween sponge soundproofing, it has 2pin plug with 2x black wires on it, cut theplug off and solder 2 wires on to board. its water on pins on plug which cause bad connection ( even if it looks new). i have done this loads of times and it works.

Thanks hooverengineer - I wasn't confident enough to remove the plug and re-solder. But instead I used duck tape to secure the plug tightly to the circuit board. So far (after a few washes) the problem is solved. If the duck tape does fail in the future I'll let everybody know.
